History
In 1986, a trained gourmet chef named Vern Meyer began cultivating fresh herbs for his own use. Over time, word spread about these carefully cared-for, delicious fresh herbs and soon other gourmet chefs were asking for them too. As a result, The Herbal Garden began to sprout into a successful business.
Since then, we've grown to become the premier supplier of fresh, culinary herbs and edible flowers. From the finest restaurants to quick dinners at home, our herbs help any chef go from "everyday" to "simply gourmet."
Today, we cultivate hundreds of acres in Illinois and Mexico, operate 18 state-of-the-art hydroponic greenhouses, and have state-of-the-art packing and distribution facilities in Wauconda, Illinois, and Rock Hill, South Carolina.
And while we've continued to invest to have the best land, equipment and facilities possible, we've never lost our love for what we do, our passion for quality, our devotion to working the land, and our desire to grow and deliver the most delicious fresh herbs anywhere.
